Blackberry Password Setup
Use the following instructions to enable or change the password on your Blackberry. If you need further assistance, please contact the HMS IT Help Desk at 617-432-2000.
Set or Change a Password on a Blackberry 5.0 or newer
- Press the Menu/Blackberry button.

- Select the Options icon.
- Then scroll to Password.
- Under Password choose Enabled.
- Once you choose enabled it will prompt you to enter in your new password, you will have to input the password twice to confirm.
- Press the return key. You will be prompted to save. Click Yes.
If you wish to change the password in the future:
- Navigate to the Password option as described above.
- Click the box labeled Change Password.
- Enter your old password and then your new password twice.
- Press the return key. You will be prompted to save. Click Yes.
Older Blackberry OS's
- Press the Menu/Blackberry button.

- Select the Options icon. It may look either like a small equalizer or a wrench.
- Scroll to Security Options.
- Under Security Options select General Options.
- If Password is disabled, change it to Enabled. Once that is done it should prompt you to enter in the desired password twice to confirm.
- Press the return key. You will be prompted to save. Click Yes.
If you wish to change the password in the future:
- Select General settings option.
- Press the menu button.
- Scroll to Change Password.
- Enter your old password and then your new password twice.
- Remember to save your changes!
